4 out of 5 stars A Fun Portable Pen   August 30, 2008
E. Fisher (Iowa City, IA)
I've always wanted to own a space pen because of its science-fiction, cracker-jack box like appeal. Now that I finally have one, I have not been disappointed. As promised, it writes on all forms of surfaces and in all different positions. Additionally, the pen's smallness and sturdy design make it capable of being taken anywhere. However, at the same time it has a well-balanced feel. My only quipis that the ink occasionally blots when writing. Overall, I highly recommend it.Chrome Bullet Space Pen Gift Boxed

5 out of 5 stars Improved!   July 19, 2008

The two biggest criticisms of the Fisher Bullet Space Pen were the inadequate clip and the slippery grip. Despite these two concerns, I was desperate for a decent pen that would fit into my BlackBerry case.

I am happy to report that both issues have been addressed. The new, improved clip (which is packaged separately from the pen) was so tight to fit onto the pen that I had to use the edge of my desk to push it on. It's there to stay! The improved grip is now a 1.25-inch area of concentric rings etched deeply into the metal.

Good going, Fisher!

Gave these as gifts for groomsmen in my wedding. I told the wedding party about the Seinfeld episode about the space pen.

A couple of the groomsmen immediately started testing the pen by writing upside down and on a wet piece of paper.

They were a hit.

IT'S A SPACE PEN. HOW COOL IS THAT!
IT WRITES UPSIDE DOWN.
WHENEVER I'M UPSIDE DOWN I CAN STILL WRITE.
NOW IF WE EVER LOSE GRAVITY I CAN STILL LEAVE A NOTE.
IT NEEDS TO BE A STICKY NOTE THOUGH :-)

4 out of 5 stars fair, durable pen   February 7, 2008

Onto my second one of these. enjoyed the first, but lost it (disappeared into the space of odd-socks and good pens).Starter cartridge wasnt much good, replacement worked much better. No "Blobbing" or "Scratchiness" when writing. First got one to cope with casual wear and tear in a industrial workplace, and held up well. Now I work in an office setting, and it looks smart, and will usually get a comment.
However, drops onto floors have left both ends dinged and dented, and the brass is starting to show through on the cap (due to scuffs, dings, etc) yet the pen still works.
Once it got frozen into a block of ice, and wrote straight away once chipped out.....an exeriment in the name of science!
The clip is good to have, but sometimes the pen still escapes from my pockets somehow some times.
While I have written with other pens across the price, functionality and durability range, I still prefer this. A nice blend of form, function, durability.
I also have a "Russian Space Pen", the urban myth, which is a pencil with "Russian Space Pen" stamped on it, and laying the two side by side usually gets a positive response,ie laughs
Recommended for those who want a good pen for several years.
